The Jewish Center of Teaneck is deeply gratified to announce our honorees for the 2019 Annual Dinner, individuals who, day in and day out, form the backbone of our community.

The Jewish Center of Teaneck will dedicate its Aron Kodesh in memory of Dr. Walter Brenner z’l and in honor of Mrs. Jewel Brenner, for their outstanding contributions to our synagogue community.  The Brenner's have been associated with the Jewish Center for half a century, and they have been beloved members of the entire community, and their generous support has been a pillar of the Center's revitalization.  We can think of no family more deserving than the Brenner's, and we look forward to celebrating this auspicious dedication together.

The Jewish Center of Teaneck will confer its distinguished community service award upon
Alysa and Amir Cohen for their exceptional contributions to our synagogue life.  Alysa has served as a remarkable chair of the youth committee, and is the driving force behind the unparalleled youth programming for which our synagogue community has become known.  Amir Cohen has served as one of the founding members and the gabbai of our Edot Ha-Mizrach/Morrocan minyan these last two years, and, in this capacity, has expanded the Jewish Center's religious life into new and vital areas.  It is altogether fitting that we celebrate the Cohen's as they prepare to make aliyah this coming August. along with Rami, Daphna, Yonatan, and Aviv.

The Jewish Center of Teaneck is deeply moved to confer a special community service award upon our outgoing youth directors, Rav Yishai and Yiskah Klein, who have transformed the youth department of our synagogue.  Rav Yishai's Shabbat morning minyan, and their overall leadership of the youth department, as well as the community wide Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration, has created a standard to which all subsequent youth directors will continue to aspire.  The revitalization of our community over the last two years has been, in great measure, a testament to the exceptional work done by Rav Yishai and Yiskah, and we wish them bracha and hatzlacha as they return to Israel this coming summer.
