Lynn Sabat worked for the JCC Rockland in Rockland County, NY, for almost 20 years, and was also the JCC’s Administrative Director.  She brings a breadth of experience in many areas such as Jewish Center management, building management, security, computers, working with volunteers, clergy, board of directors, and in house staff just to name a few.

Lynn uses her professional skills and expertise at the Jewish Center of Teaneck for the running enhancement of the many programs and activities that attract the greater Jewish Community in and around Teaneck.

Lynn likes to meet members of the congregation, and she especially welcomes new visitors and potential members to call and visit the Jewish Center of Teaneck for a personal tour of the Center.

Lynn graduated Lehman College in New York, and has attended SUNY in Rockland County to take courses in business and graphic arts. She received the Rockland Jewish Community Campus Achievement Award in 2007; the JCC-Y Rockland Achievement Award in 2002; and the Jewish Federation of Rockland, Certificate of Appreciation “Stand Together with Israel” in 2006. Lynn also traveled to Israel on a special 72 hour Jewish Federation Mission to support the residents of Afula, a small city located in the Jezreel valley in northern Israel.

Lynn is the proud mom to her son Jeff and his wife Tammy; her daughter Sheri and husband Larry; and her daughter Robin.  She is also the very proud Bubby to her 4 ½ year old granddaughter, Emma.  Lynn and her family have enjoyed traveling and hiking in many National Parks over the years, and their greatest walking achievement is their participation in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for the past several years.

Heather Kalderon was born in Cape Town, South Africa. At age 11, Heather emigrated to Israel with her Zionist parents.  For the last 11 years, Heather has been living in Bergen County. She is fluent in English and Hebrew, and types in both languages.

Variety is the spice of life, agrees Heather, who loves the mix that makes up her Center schedule. Heather has been working for more than 10 years in the office and has witnessed many many changes. She interacts with members and visitors on a daily basis, and always has a friendly smile.

Her assignments range from answering the phone to helping with Adult Ed programs, from compiling the High Holy Day Kits to working with various computer programs and learning something new every day, from dealing with the incoming and outgoing mail and the copy machine to cemetery permits.

Her busy and diverse days mean that as she enters the building each morning she contemplates what interesting new projects will be waiting for her. There’s a great atmosphere among the Center staff, too, and she fondly remembers celebrating a milestone birthday with them a few years ago.

Heather has a son who lives in Tempe, Arizona, a younger son, and a married daughter with two gorgeous granddaughters who live in Israel.

In addition to her time at the Center, Heather spends many hours a week playing tennis, which she enjoys immensely.
